This bill would block corporations, nonprofits, and LLCs from spending money on elections or ballot measures in Washington. Companies would be limited to the powers the state clearly gives them, and breaking the rules could cost them their limited liability. Even out-of-state groups could be regulated if they try to influence Washington elections. Violations could be thrown out entirely, meaning the spending wouldn’t count and the company could lose its legal protections.
