This bill makes it easier to fix mistakes on absentee ballots. Voters can correct errors on any absentee ballot, not only those received by the Friday before Election Day. Registrars must notify voters of problems promptly. The deadline to fix issues moves to noon on the Monday after Election Day, giving more time. A missing middle initial or date on the affirmation won’t void a ballot. Result: more valid votes counted and fewer ballots thrown out.
