Starting in the 2027-2028 school year, Arizona public and charter schools would have to give every K-12 student yearly, age-appropriate lessons on firearm safety. The lessons would focus on preventing accidents, safe storage, and what to do if a child finds a gun. Schools could not use real guns or teach gun use. Parents could review the materials. The goal is to reduce injuries while keeping lessons neutral on gun ownership.
