This bill makes it harder to close certain state-owned outdoor shooting ranges near large cities. In addition to agency review, public hearings and the governor’s approval, the Arizona Legislature would also have to approve any closure by joint resolution. This gives lawmakers and the public more say, which could keep ranges open longer for shooters, but may also slow action on noise, land-use, or neighborhood concerns.
