About the Organization

The 33rd District Democrats is the local Democratic Party organization (central committee) serving Washington State's 33rd Legislative District. It organizes members, endorses and supports Democratic candidates, runs voter outreach and civic engagement activities, and advances party priorities for communities including Burien, SeaTac, Normandy Park, Des Moines and parts of Kent.

Policy Goals

Typical activities and policy priorities include candidate endorsements and get-out-the-vote work, and advocacy for Democratic-aligned issues at the state and local level such as public education funding, affordable housing, healthcare access, workers' rights and pro-labor policies, transit and transportation, climate and environmental protection, immigrant and racial equity, and voting access.

Funding

Primarily small-dollar donations, membership dues and local fundraising events; occasional financial or in-kind support from the state Democratic Party and aligned labor unions or civic partners.

Affiliates

Affiliated with the Washington State Democratic Party and local labor and community partners (hosts meetings at local union halls such as IBEW Local 77); works closely with the 33rd Legislative District's elected officials and local Democratic clubs and activists.
