AAPI Youth Rising (AYR) is a youth-led national collective founded in 2021 by Mina Fedor and other middle school students to combat anti-Asian hate and promote inclusion through education and civic engagement. With more than 200 chapters across over 35 states, the organization advocates for the teaching of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander history in K-12 schools, organizes student-led teach-ins and public speaking engagements, and mobilizes young people to support legislative and community-based initiatives.
Ethnic studies and AAPI history education mandates, anti-bullying and anti-hate initiatives, mental health awareness and stigma reduction in AANHPI communities, youth civic engagement, and opposition to policies perceived as discriminatory toward Asian Americans.
