AARP Washington is the state office of AARP, a large membership organization that advocates for people aged 50+ on issues affecting retirement security, health care, caregiving, and age-friendly communities; the office provides member services, education, and state-level advocacy and lobbying on behalf of older Washingtonians.
State-level priorities include Medicare/Medicaid access, prescription drug affordability, Social Security and retirement security, long-term care and caregiver support, consumer protections for older adults, affordable housing and transportation, age discrimination, and policies to promote livable, age-friendly communities.
Primarily funded by member membership dues and fees, revenue from branded insurance and financial products and service agreements, program fees, corporate partnerships, and philanthropic grants to affiliated foundations.
