AAUW California is the state branch of the American Association of University Women, a nonprofit organization that works to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, advocacy, and leadership development.
Typically pursues policies on educational equity, pay equity and workplace fairness, Title IX enforcement and campus safety, increased access to STEM and higher education for girls and women, economic security for women, and anti-discrimination measures affecting women and girls.
Primarily funded by member dues, individual donations, grants, fundraising events, and endowments; may also receive support from affiliated advocacy funds.
