About the Organization

Act On Mass is a Massachusetts-based grassroots nonprofit that organizes constituents to increase transparency, accountability, and progressive policymaking at the Massachusetts State House. The group runs campaigns, a weekly policy newsletter, and ballot and legislative advocacy to make legislative processes more open and to advance a broad progressive agenda.

Policy Goals

Statehouse transparency and open government, campaign and legislative process reform, election reform, progressive revenue and taxation, public education investment, climate and renewable energy policy, immigrant rights, affordable housing, healthcare access, criminal justice reform, labor and workers' rights, LGBTQ+ and Indigenous peoples' rights.

Funding

Primarily small-dollar and individual donations and grassroots fundraising; states it does not accept corporate funding.

Mass-Care (collaborative partner on ballot efforts), Scotia Hille (Executive Director), Brenna Ransden (Organizing Director), and partnerships with multiple Massachusetts progressive advocacy organizations and volunteer networks.
