Advocates for Youth is a national nonprofit that partners with young people and adult allies to advance sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice. The organization promotes youth bodily autonomy, inclusive and medically accurate sexuality education, confidential access to sexual health services, and youth leadership through programs (including the AMAZE education platform) and youth-led campaigns aimed at changing policy, practice, and public opinion.
Supports comprehensive, age‑appropriate sexuality education; policies expanding youth access to confidential and affordable sexual and reproductive health services (including contraception and STI prevention); LGBTQ+ inclusive programs and protections for young people; reproductive rights and justice; youth civic engagement and leadership development; opposes abstinence‑only or restrictive policies that limit medically accurate information or access to care for adolescents.
Primarily funded by philanthropic foundation grants, individual donations and donor‑advised fund gifts, supplemented by program grants and occasional government or earned‑revenue support.
Works closely with youth activist networks and public health and reproductive health organizations, including partnerships or collaborative work with Planned Parenthood, Guttmacher Institute, SIECUS (Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States), and philanthropic supporters such as the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and private foundations like The Palette Fund.
