The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) is the principal U.S. trade association representing manufacturers and suppliers in the civil and defense aerospace and space sectors. AIA advocates for policies that strengthen the domestic aerospace industrial base, advance aviation and space technology and innovation, and support member competitiveness in global markets.
Defense and federal procurement policy, aviation safety and regulation, space policy and launch regulation, export controls and trade policy, research and development and technology investment, workforce development and STEM education, supply-chain resilience and industrial base preservation, tax and regulatory issues affecting aerospace manufacturers.
Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from aerospace and defense companies, plus revenue from events, sponsorships, and publications.
Major member companies and industry partners such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon Technologies, General Dynamics, GE Aerospace; board-level industry leaders and former senior government officials often serve as prominent spokespeople or advisers.
