About the Organization

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is a U.S. labor union that represents public service and municipal workers — including state and local government employees, healthcare and human services staff, and public safety support personnel — and advocates for collective bargaining, better wages and benefits, workplace safety, strong public services, and broader economic and social justice policies.
