About the Organization

The Age Verification Providers Association (AVPA) is a not‑for‑profit, global trade association (founded 2018 and based in London) representing companies that supply online age verification, age estimation and age‑inference technologies. The AVPA seeks to educate the public and industry, promote privacy‑preserving approaches, and represent the independent age‑assurance sector to regulators and lawmakers to enable compliant, standards‑based age checks across digital services.

Policy Goals

Promotes technical standards and best practices for age assurance; advocates for regulatory frameworks and compliance measures for online age‑restricted access; emphasizes privacy‑preserving verification methods and interoperability; engages with lawmakers, regulators and industry on online safety, digital identity, data protection and procurement guidance.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership fees and dues from commercial age‑verification providers, supplemented by event sponsorships partnerships and paid services to members.

Affiliates

Membership and partner ecosystem includes commercial providers and industry bodies such as AgeChecked, GBG, Yoti, Pay360, Verime, W2, the Age Check Certification Scheme (ACCS), the euCONSENT project and participation in forums like the Mobile Ecosystem Forum.
