About the Organization

The Alabama Bankers Association is the trade association representing commercial, community, and regional banks operating in Alabama. Its mission is to advocate for sound public policy affecting the banking industry, provide education and training to bank personnel, promote best practices in compliance and risk management, and support community development and financial literacy across the state.

Policy Goals

Advocacy on state and federal banking regulation and supervision, regulatory relief for community banks, lending and credit access policies, payments and fintech issues, consumer financial protection implementation, cybersecurity and fraud prevention, tax and capital policies affecting banks, workforce development and financial education initiatives, and community reinvestment and economic development programs.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues from banks and financial institutions, event and conference fees, sponsorships, training and certification program revenue, and revenue from publications and services provided to members.

Affiliates

Affiliated with member banks and financial institutions across Alabama and works in coordination with national and regional industry groups such as the American Bankers Association, other state bankers associations, and industry partners that provide training, advocacy, and compliance resources.
