All Voting is Local Action (AVL Action) is the 501(c)(4) advocacy arm of All Voting is Local. AVL Action lobbies, organizes, and litigates at the state and local level to expand voter access, protect election administration from partisan interference, and advance voting equity for Black, Brown, Native American and other historically marginalized communities across key battleground states.
Advocates for expanded voter access (vote-by-mail, ballot drop boxes, voter registration modernization), language and tribal voter access, increased election funding and poll worker recruitment, standards for transparent election administration and certification, and opposition to restrictive measures (proof-of-citizenship requirements, restrictive voter ID laws, and election-denial policies).
Primarily funded by philanthropic grants and individual contributions; as a 501(c)(4) it also accepts non-deductible political contributions and grants from civic/democracy-focused funders to support state-level advocacy and lobbying.
All Voting is Local (501(c)(3) affiliate), coalition partners including the ACLU, Campaign Legal Center, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and senior leadership such as Executive Director Hannah Fried.
