The Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) is a national trade association representing nonprofit, community-based and provider-aligned health plans. Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., ACHP advocates for policies that improve affordability, quality, and access to care, and promotes evidence-based innovations developed by its member plans to strengthen community health nationwide.
ACHP advocates for federal and state health care policies that support nonprofit health plans, Medicare Advantage and Medicaid programs, value-based payment models, health equity initiatives, affordability reforms, and improvements in quality measurement and consumer experience.
Primarily funded through membership dues from nonprofit health plan members, sponsorships, and foundation-supported research initiatives.
Member organizations include leading nonprofit and provider-aligned health plans such as Kaiser Permanente, Geisinger Health Plan, HealthPartners, Priority Health, UPMC Health Plan, and other regional community-based insurers.
