The Alzheimer’s Association is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to advancing research, providing care and support for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and advocating for public policies that improve prevention, treatment, and care. Its mission is to lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia while enhancing care for those affected.
The organization typically pursues legislative policies related to increased federal and state funding for Alzheimer’s and dementia research, expanded access to quality long-term care and caregiver support services, early detection and diagnosis initiatives, public health planning, and protections for individuals living with cognitive impairment.
