About the Organization

The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) is a labor union representing workers in the public and private mass transit industry across the United States and Canada. Its mission is to organize and advocate for transit workers, including bus drivers, subway operators, maintenance workers, and other transit employees, to secure fair wages, safe working conditions, strong benefits, and retirement security.

Policy Goals

ATU advocates for legislation supporting collective bargaining rights, workplace safety standards, pension protection, public transportation funding, infrastructure investment, worker protections, and labor-friendly employment policies at the federal, state, and local levels.
