About the Organization

The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) is a professional medical society for surgeons and other health care professionals focused on hip and knee care. Founded in 1991, it describes its mission as advancing excellence in hip and knee care through education, advocacy, research, and outreach.

Policy Goals

Clinical practice standards, patient access to joint care, quality improvement, coding and payment, regulatory issues, health policy, research, and physician advocacy related to hip and knee arthroplasty.

Funding

Primarily membership dues, meeting and educational program revenue, journal and publication activities, and corporate partnership/sponsorship support.

Affiliates

Board-certified orthopaedic hip and knee surgeons; The Hip Society; The Knee Society; the Journal of Arthroplasty; and corporate partners in the medical device and orthopaedic industry.
