About the Organization

The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is the national professional membership association for nurse practitioners in the United States. It represents and advocates for NPs, supporting their practice, education, research, and leadership to improve accessible, patient-centered, high-quality health care.

Policy Goals

Health care workforce and scope-of-practice issues, access to care, NP licensure and practice authority, reimbursement, education and training, research, and patient-centered health policy.

Funding

Primarily membership dues, conference and education revenue, sponsorships, partnerships, and donations/grants.

Affiliates

AANP-PAC, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), and AANP Fellows (FAANP); closely associated with nurse practitioner leaders nationwide.
