The American Cement Association (ACA), formerly the Portland Cement Association, is the U.S. trade association representing the country’s major cement manufacturers and supporting companies. ACA provides industry research and market intelligence, develops technical and safety guidance, promotes workforce development and innovation, and advocates for policies that support infrastructure, safety, and the industry’s goal of decarbonization (including a roadmap to carbon neutrality by 2050).
Federal and state infrastructure and surface transportation funding and procurement (including Buy America), environmental and air emissions regulations affecting cement manufacture, industrial decarbonization and carbon capture incentives, energy and alternative fuels policy, permitting and land use, building codes and material specifications, workforce development and occupational safety, trade and tariff policy affecting cement supply.
Primarily member dues and fees from U.S. cement manufacturers and associate members, supplemented by revenue from events, publications, sponsorships, and paid research/services.
Major U.S. cement producers and associate members such as Cemex USA, Heidelberg Materials, Martin Marietta, CalPortland, GCC, Titan America, Argos, Ash Grove (CRH), Continental Cement (Summit Materials); affiliated initiatives and coalitions include the North American Concrete Alliance and the ACA Education Foundation; Michael Ireland, President & CEO, is a prominent association leader.
