The American Federation of Teachers is a national labor union representing educators, school-related personnel, higher education faculty and staff, nurses, and other public service workers. It is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO and says its mission is to champion fairness, democracy, economic opportunity, and high-quality public education, healthcare, and public services.
