American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) is a U.S.-based trade association that represents refiners and petrochemical manufacturers. AFPM advocates for policy and regulatory outcomes intended to support the economic viability, competitiveness, safety, and supply reliability of the fuels and petrochemical sectors.
Energy and fuels regulation, air and environmental permitting, fuel quality and fuel standards (including the Renewable Fuel Standard), trade and tax policy affecting refiners and petrochemical producers, infrastructure and permitting (pipelines, ports, terminals), industrial safety and emergency response, and workforce/skills development for the sector.
Primarily funded by membership dues, sponsorships, and fees from member companies in the refining and petrochemical industries.
Major U.S. refiners and petrochemical firms (membership typically includes companies such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, Marathon Petroleum, Valero, Phillips 66, PBF Energy and large petrochemical producers), state refinery associations and industry partners.
