The American Immigration Council is a nonprofit organization that conducts research, policy analysis, public education, and legal advocacy to promote fair immigration laws and protect the rights of immigrants in the United States. It supports litigation, produces reports and data, and provides resources for practitioners and policymakers.
Advocates for comprehensive immigration reform, pathways to legal status and citizenship, due process and access to counsel for immigrants, protections for refugees and asylum seekers, family reunification, alternatives to detention and enforcement practices that protect civil rights, and policies that support immigrant integration at the state and local level.
