About the Organization

The American Psychological Association is the largest scientific and professional organization of psychologists in the United States. Its mission is to advance the creation, communication, and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people’s lives.

Policy Goals

Psychology and behavioral health policy, federal research funding, mental health access, standards and ethics for psychological practice, education and training, professional licensure and reimbursement, and science-based public policy.

Funding

Primarily membership dues, publications, conferences, educational programs, and related organizational revenue, with additional support from grants, sponsorships, and donations through affiliated entities.
