Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is a national conservative and libertarian grassroots advocacy organization founded in 2004. Its stated mission is to empower Americans to pursue their version of the American Dream by advancing policies that promote limited government, free markets, and individual liberty. AFP operates state chapters across the country and engages in public education, grassroots organizing, and issue advocacy at the federal and state levels.
AFP typically advocates for limited government spending and lower taxes, deregulation, free-market economic policies, opposition to environmental regulations such as greenhouse gas limits, school choice, health care market reforms, immigration reform aligned with economic freedom principles, and reductions in federal debt and government expansion.
Primarily funded by private donors, historically including significant financial support from Charles Koch, the late David Koch, and donors affiliated with the Koch network, along with other corporate and individual contributors.
