About the Organization

The Animal Welfare Institute is a nonprofit organization founded in 1951 dedicated to reducing animal suffering caused by people. It works to promote humane treatment of animals in agriculture, research, wildlife management, and companion animal care through advocacy, public education, and policy reform.
