About the Organization

The Annie Appleseed Project is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) patient advocacy nonprofit that provides education, resources, meeting summaries and conferences focused on complementary, alternative and integrative approaches to cancer care. Founded by cancer survivor and advocate Ann Fonfa, the organization aims to empower patients and families with information about nutrition, mind-body medicine, integrative protocols and options that can be used alongside or in place of conventional treatments.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for patient access to complementary, alternative and integrative cancer therapies; support for informed consent and shared decision-making in oncology; promotion of nutrition, lifestyle and mind-body approaches as part of whole-person care; expanding coverage and research for integrative oncology options; public education about risks and benefits of CAM therapies.

Funding

Primarily supported by individual donations, conference registration and program fees, small grants and modest advertising or sponsorship revenue.
