About the Organization

Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education is a national professional nonprofit that advocates for the interests of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) students, faculty, and staff in colleges and universities by providing professional development, research, leadership training, networking, and policy advocacy to advance equity and representation in higher education.

Policy Goals

Higher-education access and equity for AAPI communities, campus diversity and inclusion initiatives, anti-discrimination and civil rights protections, data disaggregation for AAPI subgroups, support for AAPI faculty and leadership advancement, policies affecting international and immigrant students and scholars, and funding/legislation that impacts college affordability and student success.

Funding

Primarily funded through membership dues, conference and event fees, foundation grants, institutional sponsorships, and individual donations.

Affiliates

Partners typically include campus AAPI student and faculty networks, regional APAHE chapters, national higher-education associations, civil-rights and AAPI community organizations, and AAPI scholars and leaders in higher education.
