Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national U.S. trade association representing non‑union or 'merit shop' contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and related firms. ABC advances free‑enterprise construction practices through advocacy, workforce development, safety and training programs, and industry services for member companies.
Advocacy on construction and procurement policy, labor policy favoring merit‑shop principles (opposition to mandatory project labor agreements and certain prevailing wage mandates), regulatory and OSHA/safety rules, workforce development and apprenticeship initiatives, infrastructure funding and tax/contracting policies that affect private‑sector contractors.
Primarily funded by membership dues from contractors and suppliers, fees from training and certification programs, event and conference revenue, sponsorships and donations.
State and local ABC chapters, the ABC Education Foundation, and the Associated Builders and Contractors political action committee (ABC PAC).
