The Association of Language Companies (ALC) is a U.S.-based trade association representing businesses that provide language services such as translation, interpretation, localization, language testing, and language training. Its mission is to strengthen the language services industry through advocacy, professional development, networking, and industry visibility.
Language access, interpreter and translator workforce issues, industry regulation, employment classification, procurement and contracting rules, standards for language services, and broader policies affecting the business environment for language service companies.
Primarily funded by membership dues, conference and event revenue, sponsorships, and related association activities.
Member companies in the language services industry; industry partners and leaders such as language company owners and senior management; it has also worked with JNCL-NCLIS and retained Bill Rivers as an industry lobbyist.
