About the Organization

AMSUS, The Society of Federal Health Professionals, is a nonpartisan professional association founded to advance the practice of medicine and public health across U.S. uniformed and federal health services; it promotes medical readiness, professional development, research, education, and collaboration among military, Veterans Affairs, Public Health Service, and other federal health professionals.

Policy Goals

Federal health and readiness policy, military medical readiness and force health protection, veterans' health care and transition, public health emergency preparedness and response, federal workforce development and education, clinical practice standards, telehealth and health information interoperability, medical research and innovation

Funding

Primarily membership dues, conference and continuing education fees, publication revenues, grants and contracts, and sponsorships and contributions from government, academic, and industry partners

Affiliates

U.S. uniformed health services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps, Defense Health Agency and Military Health System leadership, and current and former U.S. and service Surgeons General who frequently engage with the organization
