About the Organization

The Association of State and Tribal Home Visiting Initiatives (ASTHVI) is a member-driven, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports state, territorial, and Tribal administrators in implementing and improving evidence-based home visiting programs serving pregnant people and families with children from birth through age five. ASTHVI facilitates peer-to-peer exchange, disseminates best practices and program data, and communicates the impact and operational needs of home visiting to policymakers and stakeholders.

Policy Goals

Informational and technical support on policies that sustain and strengthen home visiting: federal MIECHV funding and reauthorization, state and Tribal program implementation and expansion, evidence-based program quality and evaluation, maternal and child health, early childhood services, workforce development, culturally responsive Tribal home visiting, and data/reporting requirements; ASTHVI describes its role as informational and peer support rather than direct lobbying.

Funding

Primary funding comes from member dues, foundation and philanthropic grants, program contracts and event registration fees; the organization began with a private philanthropic start-up grant and operates with small-staff and contractor support.

Affiliates

State and territorial health and human services/home visiting administrators, Tribal home visiting grantees, federal programs such as the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, evidence-based model developers and national home visiting models, and Linchpin Strategies (administrative/governance support).
