The Association of Washington Business (AWB) is Washington’s oldest and largest statewide business association and state chamber of commerce, founded in 1904. AWB advocates for employers across sectors, seeks to advance an economic climate that enables members and citizens to prosper, and provides member services including group health plans, retirement products and workers’ compensation programs.
Advocacy for business-friendly tax and fiscal policy, regulatory reform and reduction of government barriers, workforce development and manufacturing policy, labor and employment issues (including workers' compensation), employer health care and benefits policy, economic development and infrastructure priorities affecting business.
Primarily funded by membership dues and sponsorships, plus revenue from member services and programs (association-managed health plans, retirement and workers' compensation programs), events and service fees.
Accredited partner of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; includes major member employers such as Boeing, Microsoft and Weyerhaeuser; collaborates with statewide business groups like the Washington Roundtable; led by President & CEO Kristofer (Kris) Johnson.
