The Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP) is a statewide nonprofit membership organization representing principals, assistant principals, and other school leaders in Washington State. AWSP delivers professional learning, leadership development, and advocacy aimed at strengthening school leadership and improving outcomes for K–12 public school students.
Advocacy for K–12 public education funding and school finance, principal certification and leadership development, educator recruitment and retention, student safety and school climate, supports for special education and English learners, equity and access initiatives, and policies affecting school operations and accountability.
Primarily membership dues and fees for conferences and professional development, supplemented by training contracts, grants, and corporate or organizational sponsorships.
Works closely with state education entities and associations such as the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA), Washington State School Directors' Association (WSSDA), and national principal organizations and education leaders.
