About the Organization

The California Native Plant Society is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of California’s native plants and their natural habitats through science, education, stewardship, gardening, and advocacy.

Policy Goals

Biodiversity conservation, native plant protection, habitat preservation, climate resilience, land use planning, water resource protection, wildfire management, and environmental review and compliance under state and federal environmental laws.

Funding

Membership dues, individual donations, foundation grants, program fees, and limited government grants.

Affiliates

Local CNPS chapters throughout California, conservation coalitions, botanical institutions, environmental advocacy organizations, and partnerships with state and federal land management agencies.
