The Center for a Secure Free Society (SFS) is an independent U.S. national security think tank focused on threats in the Western Hemisphere. SFS produces research, policy analysis, events and training on topics such as transnational organized crime, terrorism, border security and 'weaponized migration,' and the strategic influence of China, Russia, Iran and Venezuela in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Advocates legislative and executive actions strengthening homeland defense, border security and immigration enforcement; policies to counter foreign authoritarian influence and malign state actors in the Americas; measures to disrupt transnational organized crime and terrorism; and closer defense, intelligence and security cooperation with regional partners.
Primarily funded through private donations and foundation grants, supplemented by event fees, training and publication support; solicits tax-deductible contributions from individual supporters.
Incorporated non-profit research think tank (operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization).
