Chosen Family Law Center is a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides free legal services, policy advocacy, legislative drafting, and professional education to advance legal recognition and protections for LGBTQIA+, polyamorous, multi-parent, platonic co‑parent, and other non‑nuclear or \"chosen\" families.
Advocates for inclusive family‑law reforms and legislation (parentage, multi‑partner/domestic partnership recognition, wills and estate protections), transgender and name/gender‑marker legal supports, anti‑discrimination protections for non‑traditional families, immigration assistance for LGBTQIA+ asylees, and professional education/standards for lawyers and social service providers.
Primarily funded through charitable donations and philanthropy (individual donors and foundation grants), supplemented by program grants and occasional fee‑for‑service or contract support.
