About the Organization

The CHRO Association is an invitation-only trade association of chief human resources officers and senior HR executives from roughly 400 large public and private employers. Rebranded from the HR Policy Association, it provides peer networks, research, education and coordinated advocacy to shape workforce, labor and HR regulatory policy and to help members design future-ready workforces.

Policy Goals

Labor and employment regulation, workforce strategy and talent policy, executive compensation and disclosure, employee benefits, labor relations and collective bargaining, workplace AI and technology governance, global employment policy and cross-border labor issues, regulatory engagement with agencies (e.g., DOL, NLRB, EEOC, SEC) and Congress

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and fees from corporate members, revenue from events and trainings, premium membership programs and Centers (e.g., Center on Executive Compensation), and sponsorships for programming

Affiliates

Major member companies and senior HR leaders (examples include IBM, Procter & Gamble, UPS, AbbVie, Merck), CHRO Association leadership such as CEO Tim Bartl and board chair Tim Richmond, and affiliated programs like the Center on Executive Compensation and HR Policy Global

Legal Structure

Trade association / non-profit business league (operates as a 501(c)(6) membership organization)
