Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV) is an Arizona-based grassroots organization that trains and mobilizes residents to engage in state and local government beyond the ballot box. CEBV provides trainings on public testimony and Arizona’s Request to Speak system, publishes ballot guides and policy summaries, runs a youth fellowship, and organizes volunteers to influence local and state decisionmaking in support of progressive values.
Promoting state and local civic engagement and accountability; voting rights and election participation; encouraging public testimony and use of legislative tools (Request to Speak); progressive issue advocacy including reproductive rights, public education, LGBTQ rights, climate policy, and money-in-politics; ballot measure and candidate education and mobilization.
Primarily small-dollar individual donations and grassroots fundraising, supplemented by membership contributions, event fees and occasional grants; operates as a 501(c)(4) so donations are not tax-deductible.
Member of the national Indivisible network and works in partnership with Arizona-based progressive and issue-focused advocacy groups and local civic organizations for trainings, mobilization and information-sharing.
