Clean Water Action is a national environmental advocacy organization founded in 1972 that organizes grassroots campaigns, policy advocacy, and electoral work to protect water resources, public health, and community quality of life; it advances clean water and drinking water protections, reduced toxic exposures, clean energy, and environmental justice.
Water quality and drinking water protection, Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act enforcement, toxic chemical and PFAS regulation, plastics and waste reduction, clean energy and climate policy, environmental justice and community health, and pro-environment political organizing and endorsements.
Primarily individual memberships and donations, grassroots fundraising and small-dollar contributions, foundation grants and partner support; operates in close coordination with the tax-deductible Clean Water Fund for charitable giving.
