Common Defense is a grassroots membership organization of progressive military veterans that advocates for democratic values, social justice, and accountable foreign and domestic policy. The organization mobilizes veterans to engage in civic participation, public education, and legislative advocacy on issues affecting veterans and the broader community.
Veterans’ benefits and services, military and foreign policy reform, protection of democratic institutions, voting rights, racial and social justice, and opposition to extremism and political violence.
Primarily funded through individual donations and foundation grants.
