About the Organization

The Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) is a national nonprofit organization that works to ensure that all people have access to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation. Its mission is to remove barriers to mobility, particularly for seniors, people with disabilities, low-income individuals, and residents of rural and underserved communities, by supporting community and public transportation providers.

Policy Goals

CTAA typically advocates for federal, state, and local policies that expand funding for public and community transportation, strengthen rural transit programs, support paratransit and accessible transportation services, promote workforce development in the transit sector, and improve mobility options for disadvantaged populations.

Funding

CTAA is primarily funded through membership dues, federal grants and cooperative agreements, conference and training revenue, and sponsorships from public and private sector partners.

Affiliates

CTAA works closely with state transit associations, local transit agencies, community transportation providers, the Federal Transit Administration, and national advocacy groups focused on aging, disability rights, and rural development.
