About the Organization

The Connecticut Bankers Association is the statewide trade association representing commercial, savings and community banks operating in Connecticut. It advocates for members on state and federal legislative and regulatory matters, provides industry education and professional development (including the Connecticut School of Finance & Management), and offers cost‑effective services and networking for member institutions.

Policy Goals

State and federal banking regulation and supervision, regulatory relief and compliance policy, community and small business lending, deposit insurance and safety-and-soundness issues, consumer financial services and compliance, payments and fintech policy, cybersecurity and fraud prevention, taxation and economic development matters affecting banks

Funding

Primarily membership dues from member banks and associate members, plus revenue from educational programs, conferences and events, sponsorships, publications and fee‑based services

Affiliates

Member banks across Connecticut including community and regional banks (examples: Webster Bank, Fairfield County Bank, Chelsea Groton Bank, PeoplesBank), the Connecticut School of Finance & Management (CBA program), Bankers Alliance (service arm), and national trade groups such as the American Bankers Association and other state bankers associations; senior staff include President & CEO Thomas S. Mongellow and a board of bank chief executives
