About the Organization

Connecticut River Conservancy is a regional nonprofit dedicated to protecting, restoring, and promoting the ecological health and public access of the Connecticut River and its watershed through science-based conservation, community partnerships, and stewardship programs.

Policy Goals

River and watershed protection, water quality and pollution reduction, dam removal and fish passage, land conservation and riparian buffer protection, stormwater and agricultural runoff management, public access and recreation, climate resilience and floodplain restoration

Funding

Mix of individual donations and memberships, foundation grants, government (state and federal) grants and contracts, corporate sponsorships, and program service revenue

Affiliates

Formerly known as the Connecticut River Watershed Council; partners often include state environmental agencies, local watershed and land trusts, The Nature Conservancy, Trout Unlimited, and regional municipal river commissions
