The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) is the lobbying arm of Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW). Founded after the Grace Commission in 1984, CCAGW advocates to reduce federal waste, fraud, abuse, and mismanagement through public education, grassroots mobilization, and direct lobbying, and publishes research such as the annual Congressional Pig Book and congressional ratings.
Fiscally conservative policies focused on reducing federal spending and deficits, eliminating earmarks and 'pork-barrel' projects, increasing government efficiency and transparency, opposing tax increases and unnecessary regulation, and promoting privatization and market-oriented reforms where applicable
