The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a national Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization founded in 1994. Its mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, protect civil rights, promote justice, and empower American Muslims. CAIR Action is its affiliated political advocacy and lobbying arm focused on public policy and civic engagement.
