Dēmos is a national nonprofit public policy and advocacy organization that works to strengthen American democracy, reduce economic inequality, and advance racial equity through research, litigation support, policy advocacy, and partnerships with community organizations.
Voting rights and democratic reform, campaign finance and money-in-politics reform, economic justice and inclusive tax policy, racial equity initiatives, criminal justice reform, consumer protections, and policies to expand access to opportunity (housing, education, and public benefits).
Primarily philanthropic grants and donations from foundations and individual supporters, supplemented by program-related grants and partner project funding.
Works in partnership with civil rights and democracy organizations such as the Brennan Center for Justice, ACLU, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, community-based racial justice groups, and allied labor and progressive policy organizations.
