About the Organization

Doctors for America is a national network of physicians, medical students and allied health professionals that mobilizes clinicians to advocate for equitable, affordable, high‑quality health care and public health policies. The organization works to shape policy, engage clinicians in grassroots advocacy, and advance health equity and evidence‑based care.

Policy Goals

Health care access and affordability (including support for Medicaid expansion and protections for the Affordable Care Act), strengthening primary care and workforce capacity, health equity and addressing social determinants of health, public health preparedness and vaccination, reproductive health access, gun violence prevention as a public health issue, climate and health policy, and other evidence‑based health system reforms.

Funding

Primarily funded by individual donations and membership contributions, supplemented by foundation and philanthropic grants and institutional partnerships.

Affiliates

State and local Doctors for America chapters and medical student groups; collaborates with national health advocacy and public‑health organizations and clinician‑advocate leaders at regional and national levels.

Legal Structure

Non‑profit advocacy organization (national physician grassroots group; operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit).
