About the Organization

Easterseals is a national nonprofit organization that provides direct services, supports, and programs for children and adults with disabilities, veterans, and their families, including early intervention, rehabilitation, employment services, autism supports, respite and caregiver services, and community inclusion initiatives through a network of local affiliates.

Policy Goals

Typically advocates for expanded funding and access to Medicaid and Medicare-covered home- and community-based services, federal and state support for early intervention and special education, employment and workforce inclusion initiatives for people with disabilities, funding for assistive technology and accessible transportation, veteran disability supports, and policies that promote community-based, integrated care and caregiver supports.

Funding

Mixed revenue model: fee-for-service and program reimbursements (including government contracts and Medicaid/Medicare billing), philanthropic donations and grants, fundraising events, and corporate partnerships.

Affiliates

A nationwide network of state and local Easterseals affiliates coordinated with the Easterseals national office, and partnerships with local health providers, school systems, veteran service organizations, and corporate/community funders.
